DEATH DON'T
HAVE NO MERCY
Extract from the first HOT TUNA
In the numerous mails I receive to ask for some tunes, this one and those from HOT TUNA come in first position.

Nothing very difficult, and some passage very characteristic of the blues. Characteristic of the blues is the
irregularity of the bass play : Bass on one string, alternate bass, indefinable bass, all that in the order dictate by
the guitarist's inspiration and technical possibilities (it is more difficult to play a constant alternate and regular
bass, whatever is the work with the left and on the high strings).
I point something out to you, at the very beginning, the Em position is the same as the (well known) Dm. As there
is one tone between D and E, all you have to do is move that D position two frets upward. Of course, take care not
to ring the open fith string (else, it will give an Em sus4). Measure 4, under the brush, FH is mentionate. This
means Full-Hand; To tell that all the right hand fingers contribute to the brush (the thumb is not required).
Aside this, often, index finger and thumb insist more than they use to on some strings, that's why there is
some little arrows to indicate "mini" brushes.
